Welcome to Fun on the Green Lowestoft 2010.
The London 2012 ‘Open Weekend’ is an annual UK-wide celebration of art, culture, sport and everything that makes up the London 2012 Games. It’s an opportunity for local community groups to showcase themselves and inspire others. To this end The Lowestoft Tourism Group are staging a “London 2012 Open Event” on The Royal Green on Saturday 24 July to be called ‘Fun on the Green’.
The event will run 10.00 a.m. – 4.00 p.m with the main arena showcasing events headlined by the Waveney Gymnastics Club.

This inaugural event is being staged by the Lowestoft Tourism Group in order to raise funds to create a new & exciting Children's Play Area on land adjacent to The Royal Green, for the benefit of both local residents & visitors to the town. Details and plans will be on display on the day & we welcome all comments & suggestions for the scheme.
We're having a Children's Fancy Dress Competition commencing at Midday with 4 categories : age 5 & under, ages 6-9, age 10 upwards & 2 or more small people with the same theme, to be judged by our special guest Councillor Deanna Law of Suffolk County Council,
