THE LOWESTOFT TOURISM GROUP

1. Name. The group is called Lowestoft Tourism Group, and works under the Waveney Tourism Forum to promote the town as destination for tourism and develop its services for visitors at a local level. 

Membership is open to any person or organisation who will work to promote the aims of the group.  

1. Aims: 

a)                  To work with the Waveney Tourism Forum and Waveney District Council with the production of publicity material for the town.

b)                  To aim to ensure that the District Council, County Council and other authorities are diligent in providing and maintaining appropriate services in relation to beach & street cleaning, coastal protection, traffic management, signage, regeneration, and ongoing improvements.

c)                  To co-operate with other Lowestoft (and surrounding area) business and community groups in raising standards and encouraging traders and townspeople to participate in helping improve services and making the town more attractive.

d)                  To assist with events and festivals that attract visitors to the town, whilst raising funds for future projects. 

1. Activities: 

a)                  To work towards the stated aims in partnership with the Waveney Tourism Forum

b)                  To hold regular meetings to discuss projects, these should be attended by all members where possible

c)                  To cascade information between the group and Waveney Tourism Forum.

To promote the town and organise events which will bring more visitors to the town.
